Ambitious versus achievable goals, learn both traits

There are two types of managers,

  1. one who prefers ambitious goals
  2. one who prefers achievable goals

Neither one is better than the other. The former has more risk appetite while the latter is getting shit done.

Observe the operating style of your manager, and learn the trait.

Observe both sides of the spectrum, acquire both traits and act as the situation demands. The world is non-binary and the optimal always lies in the middle.
